Note: SAS University Edition has been discontinued and replaced by SAS OnDemand for Academics.
SAS OnDemand for Academics (SODA) is a cloud-based SAS software that runs on a browser.
Unlike SAS University Edition, you do not need to run the software on a virtual machine.
Simply create an account with SAS and you can access the software for free within minutes!
Let’s get started.
SAS OnDemand for Academics
Getting access to SAS OnDemand for Academics is fairly easy.
First, you need to go to the product page of SAS OnDemand for Academics.
Next, you click “Access Now”, which is located at the top right corner of the screen:
Next, you will be asked to sign in to the portal.
If you don’t have a SAS profile yet, you can simply click the link “Don’t have a SAS Profile?” at the bottom.
Now, you simply need to fill out the form to create a profile:
Once you have submitted the form, you will receive an email asking you to activate your account.
Click the link in the email.
Now, set your account password.
Done! You have now created a SAS profile.
Let’s go back to the SAS OnDemand for Academics product login page and sign in to your account.
You will be directed to the web portal.
Now, choose your home region for registration.
Important! Take care with this step. You cannot change your home region after the registration.
See the FAQ for further information on the home region selection.
Once you have submitted your request for a SAS OnDemand for Academics account, you will receive an email from SAS.
Now, go back to the product login page one more time.
Click “Sign in”.
It will take you to the SAS OnDemand for Academics dashboard.
Click SAS Studio:
The SAS software will open!
